Poland 2017

Postby Imber Eye » Sun Aug 21, 2016 5:33 pm

I have been looking at trips for next year. I am currently favouring Poland for a week in late May (20-27th). We will visit the Forest and Marsh. We could use the same guide as 2003 (?); Marek Borkowski when the AOS last visited. The plummeting of sterling does mean that we will have to pay more than we ought to but who knows. The cost is about £1,300 all in less any drinks you purchase; that is flights, transport, accommodation, food and a guide. I would aim to get this cheaper and will try other guides first before deciding and fixing a price. The aim is to see a range of owls, warblers and woodpeckers. Going late May avoids the AGM and will also provide us with lots of migrants heading north. The alternative is to do without a guide however seeing key birds is a lottery whereas guides will know the breeding sites. If anyone is interested please let me know; there is no commitment at this stage.

I am up for this trip, logistically being currently based in Germany may mean meeting up in Poland but count me in. :)

Hi Andrew, do you think this is likely to go ahead? Not many posts online but arguably that could mean nothing!

Norm

I have included you down for the trip. That makes 8 of us which is the number of participants I was looking at. Six of us have already booked flights to Warsaw. I have a hotmail.com and a hotmail.co.uk email for you. Which is best to send the details to you or do you have a new address?

Andrew

Hi Andrew, did you get the chance to look at my last email on this trip?

In a nutshell inward to Warsaw I could be about 90 mins later in than you guys (so not a big deal really). On the return my flight would be at 1330 ish (so airport for 1200) - would that logistically be a problem on the last day given you fly back at around 1830?
