Leighton Moss 2018

Postby Miss Badbirdwatcher » Tue Oct 31, 2017 4:56 pm

Hi all,

I have booked accommodation for the weekend of the 2nd - 4th March 2018 so we can visit Leighton Moss and Martin Mere. It's different accommodation from last year, so everyone should get their own bed this time! Please can you let me know if you are interested in attending. More details will be added to this forum nearer the time.

Yes please for Jack Brew + 1. Looking forward to it. It was great last year and the sites accessible from this area are really good.

I am unable to attend as I should be in the Canary Islands looking for Houbara Bustard and African Blue Tit.

A thank you to Miss Badbirdwatcher and others who made this weekend so good. Delaying until the snow has cleared was a great call and the sun and positively warm conditions last weekend added to great location for birdwatching. The Water Rail showing off for the cameras at Leighton Moss was incredible amongst many other highlights (Marsh Harriers etc). It was also good to see different Egrets side by side even if I could not check the colour of their feet.

I hope other members reading this see how relaxed and comfortable AOS events are for birdwatchers of all abilities and consider joining in when the next event comes along. The AGM in May should be a good opportunity and I can see from the email update many other events are planned around the country (and abroad) too.
